Rashford recently made his debut for Aston Villa.

Chelsea star Jadon Sancho has taken a jibe at Manchester United with his recent comment ‘freedom’ on Marcus Rashford’s photo on Instagram after he posted in Aston’s Villa shirt.

The 27-year-old came off the bench in Sunday’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over Tottenham, marking his debut for Villa since joining the team on loan from Manchester United on the penultimate day of the winter transfer window.

Due to his poor training performances, Rashford had been neglected by United manager Ruben Amorim and had not played in a competitive match for more than two months.

After having an argument with Erik ten Hag over the Dutchman’s comments regarding the winger’s lack of efforts during the training, Sancho, who is currently on loan at Chelsea from United, experienced a similar situation at Old Trafford.

After refusing to apologize to Ten Hag, the former Manchester City winger was transferred on loan to Dortmund last season. Sancho accused Ten Hag of using him as a “scapegoat” for the team’s subpar performance.

Additionally, Sancho made a telling remark on Rashford’s social media post after his debut at Villa Park, demonstrating that he hasn’t forgotten his problems at the Theatre of Dreams.

Using the emojis for “prayer” and “raised hands,” Sancho wrote: “Freedom.”

He is certainly firing shots at United. Commenting freedom on Rashford’s post is an indication that Sancho’s relationship with the club and fans is still sour even after he left for the Blues.

Fans of United, who were already dissatisfied with Sancho’s performances after he joined the team in 2021 for £72 million, are unlikely to take the remark well. Sancho made 87 appearances for the team and scored just 12 goals.

Meanwhile, Rashford who is on loan to Aston Villa will hope to make the most of his time there. It will be interesting to see if United will be keen to retain him or get rid of him in the summer window.
