The Egyptian star has failed to make an impact for the Reds this season.

Mohamed Salah has been urged by Jamie Carragher to address Liverpool’s poor performance publicly.

Following Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest, Van Dijk said that Liverpool are in a “mess” and that the team has lost six of their previous seven Premier League games.

Carragher stated that other players in the locker room must exhibit the same urgency, while Van Dijk called on his fellow players to be “angry,” calling their performances “unacceptable.”

Carragher bashes Salah

Carragher called the Egyptian star to publicly demand more from his teammates, asking why the forward isn’t doing interviews now when he was willing to do so last season when he demanded a new deal.

“I only ever hear Salah speak when he gets man of the match or he needs a new contract. I’d like to see Mo Salah come out as one of the leaders, one of the legends of Liverpool, come out and speak for the team. It shouldn’t always be the captain.”

After netting two goals in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Southampton in November of last year, Mohamed Salah told reporters that he was “probably more out than in” as he approached the last few months of his contract and that he had not yet been given the honour.

Following those remarks, Jamie Carragher called the Egyptian star “selfish,” but the Egyptian was rewarded with a new contract after leading the Reds to the Premier League title the previous season.

This loss, which was Liverpool’s sixth in their previous seven Premier League games, Mohamed Salah was yet again unable to influence the game.
