The Reds will face City in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
Ronald Koeman, the coach of the Netherlands, has stated that he pulled Jeremie Frimpong from the Tuesday match against Ecuador because of an injury.
The Liverpool defender was brought in at the beginning of the second half after being on the bench. But after just 13 minutes, Jan Paul van Hecke, a centre back for Brighton, took his place.
After the game, Koeman stated, “That was a real setback – we had to take him off”, implying that Frimpong was unable to finish full match.
Liverpool dealt with a new injury setback
Frimpong’s fresh injury now raises concerns about his fitness before he returns to Merseyside. This season, Frimpong has already experienced two injury setbacks.
In October, he suffered a hamstring strain against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League, and in January, he suffered another muscle strain against Qarabag.
Koeman and Slot will be hoping that Frimpong’s injury is not severe. The Reds are looking to finish the season strongly to guarantee a spot in the Champions League.
Due to the Reds’ persistent problems at right-back, the Liverpool star is doubtful for Saturday’s FA Cup trip to Manchester City. Jeremie Frimpong has already missed 19 games due to three different injuries this season, making this his fourth injury of the season.
The Reds left with no option for right-back spot yet again

Arne Slot has had to find temporary substitutes for Conor Bradley and Frimpong, who are Liverpool’s only natural right-backs, and both are now injured.
Midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has been used at full-back the most, while Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones, and Wataru Endo have been tested in that position.
Which injury has Jeremie Frimpong suffered?
It is yet to be confirmed.
When will the Reds next play football?
They will next play on 4th April against City in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
