Jose Mourinho opens up about his ambitions to win FIFA World Cup & Euros
The Portuguese is hopeful that he will manage a national team.
Jose Mourinho has revealed his ambitions to manage a national team and win a World Cup or Euros. The Portuguese manager has been linked with national team jobs in his managing career but it has never transpired so far.
Mourinho, one of the best coaches in Europe, has taken charge of many top clubs and has won trophies with every one of them.
The former Manchester United head coach is currently managing Turkish side Fenerbahce and will hope to lead them to the trophy in his first season as their gaffer.
Many top national teams won’t leave a chance to appoint Mourinho as their next head coach given the managerial acumen and such big heights he can achieve with them.
His time at previous clubs is a testament to his ability to win trophies with any club. If he is given a chance to coach a quality national team then he will hopefully spearhead them to success.
Now recently he has confirmed that he would like to manage a national team in order to participate in the World Cup and Euros. Speaking to Sky Sports he said:
“International management? Yes, I think it’s something I’d like to do, to have experience of playing at a World Cup, a Euros. To represent the country, my country or a country I feel connected to. One day I feel it will come, but not now.”
Currently, it appears too soon that he will be managing a national team given he was recently appointed as the Turkish club’s manager. He will certainly remain a few years there and hopefully win them silverware.
In future, we can even expect Mourinho to manage national teams such as Portugal, Netherlands or Germany. He will have a strong chance of winning a World Cup or Euros with these sides.
