There is a dark side to Barnt Green, a town close to Birmingham, where Jude Bellingham, the England and Real Madrid midfielder, is constructing a house for himself and his parents next door.

Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash, two Aston Villa heroes, live on the same street. Jack Grealish, a star for Manchester City, resides in a nearby neighbourhood.

The upscale Worcestershire community is quickly catching up to Alderley Edge in Cheshire, where some of the biggest football stars, such as David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Erling Haaland, have resided.

Why are there rising crimes where Jude Bellingham is building his house?

Neighbours claim that the presence of the football stars is to blame for the rising crime rate. One of them said that his house requires so much protection that it now resembles Fort Knox.

Jude Bellingham, who turned 22 last month, purchased the two-acre Barnt Green plot a year ago. Construction is nearly finished on the two detached homes where he and his parents will reside.

The landscaping around the estates is scheduled to begin later this summer, while builders are completing the main structure.

Less than a mile from Barn Green village centre, the residences sit on a calm, tree-lined street flanked by other multimillion-pound homes.

Even though the villagers love to see the famous football players, they claim that their presence in the town, along with that of many other affluent businessmen like Ben Francis, the creator of Gym Shark, and singer Jamelia, has caused a startling increase in burglaries in recent months.

According to a local, the neighbourhood is now experiencing burglaries nearly every week, including the late-month theft of a high-end sports car from a future Jude Bellingham’s neighbour’s driveway.

The local, who asked not to be named, said: “It is becoming a real problem now. There’s a burglary almost every week , but the perpetrators are never caught.

“I’ve seen the burglars myself. I was walking along the street a few weeks ago and two men dressed in black and wearing balaclavas shot past me.
