Juventus on verge of signing Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo: Report

A loan deal has been agreed between both clubs.
Juventus have agreed to sign Ronald Araujo on loan. Next week, the Uruguayan defender might even become an official acquisition.
According to a report by the Italian newspaper “La Repubblica,” Barcelona have agreed to loan the centre-back to Juventus until the end of the season.
After a week of rumours about a move to Juventus, Ronald Araujo’s future is still looking far from the Catalan city. With his current contract expiring in 2026, the Uruguayan defender has been in negotiations with Barcelona for a new contract, but they have not made much headway.
Barcelona will therefore hope to complete the selling of the centre-back to the Serie A club during the winter window.
According to the same report, Juventus‘ loan agreement with Barcelona has a summer purchase commitment in order to complete the transfer.
Barcelona’s local media has contested this, with reporter Gerard Romero admitting to having had talks with Juventus. It has also been stated that other clubs have asked about his availability. According to Sport, Manchester United are among the parties who have made inquiries, but Araujo’s team disputes that a deal has been reached.
The club are also considering selling one more centre-back. Blaugrana will also consider the departure of one of Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen this season, despite the fact that it briefly appeared that Garcia was the one leaving in January. One of the reasons Barcelona are open to selling Araujo is the potential arrival of Jonathan Tah.
Araujo is thought to favour the Premier League if he were to leave Barcelona, and recent reports have also indicated that Arsenal may make a move for him.
Since they haven’t made any headway on a new contract and have set the summer as a sale date, it might make sense for Barcelona to reach an agreement now if they don’t think they can work out a new one with Araujo.
