The striker is yet to make a concrete decision on his playing career.

After the season ends in 2025, Real Madrid superstar Karim Benzema is seriously considering retiring from football.

Benzema, who currently plays for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, ranks as one of the finest forwards to have ever appeared for Los Blancos and may be in his final season as a professional football player.

Benzema is displaying indications that he is giving this alternative careful thought, even though he has not yet made a choice.

After an entire campaign and a half at Al-Ittihad and a trophy-filled career, he is beginning to become tired of the same old routine. Additionally, following a difficult start at the club, the Frenchman has felt some mental exhaustion. Benzema is however back on track at Al-Ittihad after weathering his difficult first year, which was marked by waves of criticism.

The striker is focused, dedicated, and in perfect physical condition. With ten goals in 11 games, he leads the squad in scoring and is equal with Cristiano Ronaldo for second place in the league, only surpassed by Aleksandar Mitrovic (12).

His strong form, however, does not deter him from planning for the future. In recent weeks, Benzema has started to think about his final departure from football, a subject that is also being discussed within Al-Ittihad.

There is a realization that a retirement as early as next year would not be completely undesirable, even though Al-Ittihad believe that Benzema will most likely retire in 2026 when his contract expires.

Karim Benzema might continue to be active with the team and the league, but in a lesser capacity, making brief appearances as an ambassador.

However, Real Madrid are a part of Benzema’s long-term goals. According to the source, the striker, who ranks second on Los Blancos’ all-time scoring list, has already consented to rejoin the team as an ambassador for the Arab world.

His outstanding friendship with Florentino Perez is the main cause of this. Their relationship, which transcends sport, remained unaffected by his leaving the Bernabeu a year sooner than the president had anticipated.
