The Belgium star is leaving Man City at the end of the season

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri of Sky Sports claims that Kevin De Bruyne has approved a summer transfer to Napoli. With the obvious goal of completing a transfer before the end of the season, he has requested his agents to start talks.

It has already been confirmed that Belgium international will be entering this summer as a free agent when his contract expires, following ten incredible years at the Etihad Stadium. A new challenge is waiting for Kevin de Bruyne.

The 33-year-old star, who won multiple Premier League titles and the Champions League title with City, has been linked to clubs all over the world, including the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer, but he may want to stay in Europe longer.

Michelle, De Bruyne’s partner, has already begun looking at real estate in Naples. De Bruyne and his family are familiar with the place because they have taken multiple vacations there and frequently visited former Napoli player Dries Mertens, the report further suggests.

De Bruyne, who has previously distinguished himself in the English Premier League and German Bundesliga, was married in the nearby city of Sorrento and would appreciate the chance to take on Serie A.

Napoli’s current project under Antonio Conte

The team currently has Scotland internationals McTominay and Billy Gilmour on their roster. Antonio Conte’s team are currently in the race to win the Serie A title this season.

Giovani Manna, the sports director of Napoli, met with De Bruyne’s advisors last week to discuss the proposal for the Serie A team and the terms of his contract.

According to reports, President Aurelio De Laurentiis views the signing of such a legendary player without a transfer price as a “godsend,” and Conte has already approved a deal.

The leaders of the Serie A league have handed De Bruyne a two-year deal with a salary of €7 million. The favourable Italian tax system implies that he will receive a more similar net wage to the one he makes with Pep Guardiola’s team, even though this is still far less than the €20 million he currently makes at Manchester City.
