Mbappe feels Dembele deserves to win the award.
Kylian Mbappe has made his feelings clear on the 2025 Ballon d’Or and has backed his fellow teammate Ousmane Dembele to lift the award on 22nd September.
Mbappé has selected his France teammate to lift the Ballon d’Or at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, which is just 15 days away.
The Real Madrid attacker firmly believes in Dembélé, who won the 2024–25 Champions League, Cup title and Ligue 1 championship with PSG.
Kylian Mbappe names his 2025 Ballon d’Or favourite

Mbappé, the captain of Les Bleus, recently spoke with Telefoot. Talking about the award, he claims that Lamine Yamal is not a candidate for the football’s prestigious individual honour.
”Does Ousmane Dembélé deserve it? Of course! If it were up to me, I’d deliver it to his house myself. I hope Achraf Hakimi finishes high because defenders deserve more recognition. Lamine Yamal? Well, not him, he plays for Barcelona (laughs). But he’s a really good player!” said the former PSG star.
With Barcelona and PSG stars lead the list of contenders, the 2025 Ballon d’Or race is expected to be exciting in the weeks ahead.
Hansi Flick’s team is well-represented, with Lamine Yamal being seen as their greatest prospect after winning two trophies last season at Barcelona.
Luis Enrique’s team, led by Dembele, went one step further and won their first-ever UEFA Champions League title.
Kylian Mbappe also excelled for Real Madrid in the 2024–2025 season despite finishing the season without a major trophy. In 59 games, he finished the season with 31 La Liga goals and 44 goals overall.
Although a bid for the top spot appears doubtful, the French international is anticipated to be in the top 10 ranking along with Raphinha, Pedri, Salah, and possibly Robert Lewandowski.
