The Frenchman finally made his much-awaited debut in the 2025 CWC competition.

When Kylian Mbappé scored the game-winning goal against Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, he created history for Real Madrid.

In a single season, the Frenchman became the first Real Madrid player to rack up goals in seven separate competitions. Now, Mbappé has scored in the Copa del Rey, the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, LaLiga, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, and recently in the Club World Cup.

Karim Benzema, the second-leading striker in Real Madrid history, scored in six different competitions during the 2022–2023 season, making him the only other player in club history to approach the feat.

However, Mbappé has the added advantage of having a fuller schedule of games, including the first-ever expanded Club World Cup, which allows him to eclipse his countryman in Los Blancos’ history.

Perhaps Mbappé’s best goal while wearing a white shirt was the record-breaking one. Real Madrid advanced to the Club World Cup semifinals, where they will take on his previous team, Paris Saint-Germain. This is all thanks to an overhead kick that the 26-year-old buried in the final minute vs BVB.

In the 2021–22 season, it was Benzema who accomplished the achievement.

Mbappé has an opportunity to surpass the Real Madrid legend if he scores against PSG in the Club World Cup semifinal game. Mbappé’s first season in a white shirt would become the greatest in club history if he added another goal to his already outstanding haul.
