Kylian Mbappe: No one at Real Madrid will ever regret my signing

Mbappe assures fans they won’t regret seeing him play for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid summer signing Kylian Mbappe made a damming verdict regarding his performance for Madrid and revealed that the club won’t regret signing him.

Naturally, forward Mbappé is currently in the middle of what has turned out to be a difficult first season in the Spanish city.

However, the Frenchman has put things firmly back on track in recent weeks after being singled out for harsh criticism at various stages over the past few months.

After winning Man of the Match against Sevilla over the weekend, Mbappé has scored in each of his previous four games overall.

The 26-year-old took advantage of the occasion to express his aspirations for the upcoming year, wishing not just the best for himself but also for Real Madrid’s fans and the team overall.

Following Los Blancos’ 4-2 victory over Sevilla, Mbappé gave the following explanation.

“No one at Real Madrid will ever regret my signing,” the superstar said speaking to Marca. “I want to win titles in 2025, that’s the mission”.

Early in the season, reigning champions Madrid found it difficult to keep up with their opponents, and in October, they were crushed 4-0 by Barcelona.

The Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged that his star-studded team had been hindered by a lack of mentality and teamwork. But self-reflection has helped the group regain their rhythm.

The Champions League, where the reigning champions are in 20th place after three victories and three losses, is where the disconnect has hurt the most. However, Ancelotti stated that a reversal is imminent for Madrid, who finished their double-winning season (2023-24) strongly.

Before the game, Ancelotti had emphasized his belief that Kylian Mbappe could live up to the club’s high standards, and later he claimed the talisman had shown him to be correct.

“His adaptation period is over and today he has shown that I, from time to time, am right,” Ancelotti said. He continued:

“In 2024 I give the team an A+. Last season was fantastic. We started (this season) with more difficulty, but we were able to fix the situation in time and there is hope for 2025, but it is difficult to repeat it. We will try.”
