The French star says he has a great understanding with the Brazilian forward.

After helping Real Madrid defeat Leganes in LaLiga on Sunday, Kylian Mbappe said he has a “good relationship” with fellow forward Vinicius Jr.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team won 3-0 thanks to the Brazilian setting up a previously struggling Mbappe for the first goal and his first in Butarque in a long time.

After losing 4-0 to fierce rival FC Barcelona at the Bernabeu late last month, Madrid have now won two straight games in the Spanish top division. If they win their game in hand they will be within one point of the leader.

After the game, Mbappe emphasized to Real Madrid TV that,

“I have a good relationship with Vini, with him and with all the Madrid players. We are ready to play many games together and win many titles.”

“I started well, with rhythm with my teammates, in a different position. It’s the story of my career, I play on the right, in the center, on the left … I want to play well and score a lot of goals,” he added.

After dropping out of squad in October, Mbappe was not called up by France’s national team coach Didier Deschamps for the UEFA Nations League games in November.

However, he once again did not get called up for November international matches. But this time, Mbappe stayed put and put in a lot of training and scored a goal.

“It’s very good for me to train with the boys [from the La Fabrica academy], [and those] from Castilla too. I didn’t know many of them and they have a lot of quality. I’m physically well and ready to help the team,” Mbappe said on this.

It was crucial for Madrid to prevail at Leganes after Barca made a mistake and blew a 2-0 advantage at Celta Vigo to settle for 2-2 on Saturday night.

“We came here to win. We knew the importance of the match. We had to win after Barcelona’s tie. We started well, with a good rhythm, having the ball, playing well… The first goal was very important,” Mbappe explained.

Madrid’s next opponent is Premier League leaders Liverpool, a team that former PSG player Mbappe was formerly closely linked with. On Wednesday night, Madrid will play Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League.
