On Saturday, Kylian Mbappé became the second-fastest player this century to score his 50th LaLiga goal. Guess who the only player faster than Mbappé is? Cristiano Ronaldo, the former star of Real Madrid.
After joining Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024, Mbappé only needed 53 league games to accomplish his half-century. He did so with a penalty in the 2-0 victory over Levante at Santiago Bernabeu.
Meanwhile, after leaving Manchester United in 2009, Ronaldo reached his 50th LaLiga goal in just 51 appearances. Later, in 292 games, he scored an incredible 311 LaLiga goals for Real Madrid.

Mbappé could only hope for a record like that. However, if he remains prolific throughout his Madrid career, then we can expect him to overtake Ronaldo’s Los Blancos record. Following the game, the new Madrid manager, Álvaro Arbeloa, praised Mbappe’s effort as it helped the club achieve important three points.
“I’m grateful for his effort,” new Real Madrid boss Arbeloa said after the Levante game, which Mbappé was passed fit for.
“He is our leader. He made a great effort [to play], with the pain in his knee, but he still wanted to show up and help the team. He’s an incredible boy, and a natural-born leader.”
Mbappe has continued his prolific form this season and remains among the top contenders to win the Golden Boot once again after lifting it in his maiden season in LaLiga [2024-25].
Despite the club’s sluggish form, the Frenchman’s goals have steered the team to wins. Hopefully, the former PSG star will continue his terrific goalscoring form until the end of the season and lift a trophy this campaign. The season now enters a crucial part of the campaign.
