Brazil & Spain could face off in a possible World Cup final this summer!
Spanish wonderkid Lamine Yamal and Brazilian sensation Neymar Jr have decided to make a deal in case their teams face each other in the FIFA World Cup 2026 final.
Lamine Yamal copies Brazilian’s celebration following win against Copenhagen
On January 31, Yamal and Barcelona defeated Elche 3-1, but before this game, they faced Copenhagen in the UCL. With a powerful second half that saw them rally from a 0-1 deficit against Copenhagen to win 4-1, Hansi Flick’s team advanced to the Champions League round of 16.
The squad triumphed 4-1 thanks to goals from Raphinha from the penalty spot, Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and Marcus Rashford.
“I remembered when Neymar went to PSG and played at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League. I wanted to do the same celebration on a Champions League night, but at Camp Nou,” he explained after the match, recalling the celebration against Liverpool in 2018.
But Lamine Yamal’s celebration, in which he crossed his arms to mimic Neymar’s hallmark celebration, was the highlight.
Yamal reveals his deal with Neymar
In June 2025, the Brazilian and Yamal were on vacation together, with the young Spaniard staying at the Brazilian star’s Mangaratiba mansion in Rio de Janeiro.
After the victory, he commented that he had spoken to the current Santos FC player on FaceTime about returning to his friend’s home country, but he also revealed something even more curious ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup that demonstrates the strength of their bond:
“I made a deal with Neymar: if Spain and Brazil meet in the World Cup final, we’ll go on vacation together”
In actuality, the two sides might avoid one another until a possible final on July 19 because Brazil will be in Group C (along with Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland) while Spain will be in Group H (together with Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay).
