The expanded competition will see many clubs from African countries participate.

The 21st iteration of the FIFA Club World Cup, an international club soccer competition run by FIFA, is scheduled for 2025. It will go by the name FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

The competition will take place in the United States between June 14 and July 13, 2025. With 32 teams, comprising the champions of the four previous continental championships. It is one of a kind event after the announcement of the enlarged format.

The expanded tournament format was announced in March 2019 and was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, originally slated to be hosted by China in 2021. FIFA announced the United States as the host nation four months after approving the distribution of places among confederations in February 2023.

A very similar version of the previous model was used to establish the FIFA Intercontinental Cup as an annual competition.

The World Leagues Forum and Playersโ€™ Organisation FIFPRO criticised the tournamentโ€™s expansion because of the anticipated effects on player welfare and schedule overload.

With 12 spots, UEFA has the most representatives at the competition, followed by CONMEBOL, which has six spots. There are four represented teams from the AFC and CAF. CONCACAF typically has four places, but because of hosting responsibilities, it will get an additional one in 2025. In contrast, the OFC has a single slot.
