The club want to enhance the academy’s training facilities.
A substantial £20 million renovation will be made to Liverpool’s academy as the club’s owners want to acknowledge its contribution to the Reds’ recent success.
According to James Pearce of The Athletic, the training facility for Liverpool’s academy was first opened in 1998 and is currently undergoing a £20 million renovation.
The Reds’ academy is set for the redevelopment of its training centre

This month, Liverpool will file a planning application outlining the improvements that will be made, with the goal of finishing the project by 2028.
Although home games for the U21 and U19 Youth League will be briefly moved, an indoor dome will be constructed on the current main pitch. It will be connected to the existing building at Kirkby.
A grass field will take the place of the current artificial outdoor pitch, and there will be a new stand that can accommodate about 500 spectators—a significant improvement over the current facilities.
In addition, the club want to improve its medical and sports science departments within the academy. FSG sees the renovation as a thank you for the academy’s contribution to the team’s recent success.
The institution has already had work done over the summer to improve the current facilities, even though the major upgrades will occur over several years.
A padbol court, an athletic training and skills area, cages for small-sided matches, and new floodlighting have all been added to the facilities, which have received an investment of about £2 million.
“It’s a big statement. The owners have embarked on a number of infrastructure projects in recent years,” academy director Alex Inglethorpe told The Athletic.
“With the redevelopment of the two stands at Anfield, building the AXA Training Centre to put us all on one site here at Kirkby, and giving Melwood a facelift for the women’s team to go there.”
