The Reds are missing a host of players due to injury.
Hugo Ekitike might be added to the list of six players Liverpool will undoubtedly be missing for their Premier League visit to Arsenal tonight.
Arne Slot will once again have to name a makeshift attack at the Emirates since his forward ranks are still out and injured.
Due to the Africa Cup of Nations, Mohamed Salah will miss the trip to the Emirates for the second time in three seasons. His absence was prolonged after Egypt advanced to the quarterfinals.
What Arne Slot told reporters about Ekitike?
“He’s not trained with us until now. Let’s see if he can today (Wednesday),” Slot told reporters.
“I said when we played Fulham that he’s not going to be out for long, but yeah, because games come so fast he’s in between – maybe training with the team or it would take him one or two days extra.”

Slot had to worry about Ekitike’s capacity to practice on Wednesday since Alexander Isak would be out for some time due to a severe leg injury.
Due to a minor hamstring injury, the Frenchman missed the trip to Fulham. As of Wednesday morning, he had not been able to exercise with the team. His availability would depend on his ability to demonstrate his fitness.
Even if he were to demonstrate his fitness, a start is improbable; instead, the most likely attacking possibilities would be Cody Gakpo, Florian Wirtz, Federico Chiesa, Jeremie Frimpong, and Dominik Szoboszlai.
In addition to Wataru Endo, who is still recovering from an ankle injury, Liverpool are still without Giovanni Leoni, Stefan Bajcetic, and Jayden Danns.
Due to a hamstring injury that prevented him from playing for the U21s until February, Bajcetic hasn’t been reintegrated into the squad yet.
