The Reds have welcomed a few players from injuries.

Liverpool finished 2025 with a Premier League win over Wolves at Anfield, welcoming back a number of injured players.

Jeremie Frimpong, a summer addition, earned just his second start in the league and his first appearance from the start in more than two months as the Reds were forced to work hard for their 2-1 victory over the bottom team in the division.

Despite just practising one day before the game, fellow right-back Conor Bradley recovered from what appeared to be an injury from the previous game to make a substitute appearance, and Cody Gakpo also made his comeback from a muscular problem in the second half on Saturday.

Here is the latest Liverpool injury news for Leeds clash in Premier League:

Liverpool injury news

Hugo Ekitike

  • Potential return date: Wednesday, January 1 vs Leeds (H)

Hugo Ekitike seemed to be walking a little cautiously before being substituted a few minutes from the end at Anfield, but no injury was officially confirmed in the ensuing moments of Saturday’s victory over Wolves.

Since Slot didn’t elaborate on Ekitike’s condition in his post-match remarks, it’s plausible that the Frenchman was simply experiencing cramps or exhaustion during the hectic holiday season.

Alexander Isak

  • Potential return date: Late in the 2025-26 season

Isak suffered “an ankle injury that included a fibula fracture” after playing just 11 minutes as a substitute against Spurs before Christmas.

The Swede is still anticipated to miss several months of activity, despite Slot’s statement that he is “confident [Isak] can still play a part at the back end of the season.”

Joe Gomez

  • Potential return date: Unknown

Joe Gomez, who started in Liverpool’s December 13 victory against Brighton but was replaced less than 30 minutes into the game, is another player who has lately been forced off.

Gomez didn’t play against Wolves, while Slot has not provided any further information regarding the defender’s as-yet-undisclosed problem.

Wataru Endo

  • Potential return date: January 2026

Wataru Endo has mostly been a bit-part player for Liverpool, but given other ailments, he could have given Slot some much-needed depth—if only the Japan international hadn’t been hurt himself!

Before the Brighton game, Slot stated that it would take “weeks” for Endo to recover from an ankle injury. The Reds’ manager’s most recent statement on the subject confirmed that Endo would also be out of the matchday squad against Wolves.

Giovanni Leoni

  • Potential return date: Autumn 2026

Giovanni Leoni is anticipated to miss the rest of the season after suffering an ACL injury during his debut for Liverpool in September during the team’s Carabao Cup third-round victory over Southampton.

Stefan Bajcetic

  • Potential return date: January
