The Reds will hope to further solidify their hold at the top of the table when they face Spurs.

Liverpool, who are still vying for four trophies this season, will have a major test of their Premier League title prospects on Sunday afternoon when they go to Tottenham Hotspur.

To maintain their hopes of winning back-to-back games, the Reds defeated managerless Southampton 2-1 at St Mary’s on Wednesday night as they entered the hat for the EFL Cup semi-final draw.

They are currently only two points ahead of Chelsea at the top of the rankings, but they still have a game in hand. The victory on the South Coast came after Arne Slot’s 10 men battled valiantly to retain Fulham to a 2-2 draw in Saturday’s Premier League match.

Spurs, who defeated Manchester United 4-3 in the final EFL Cup quarterfinal on Thursday will aim to prolong their winning run. Meanwhile, the Reds will want to avoid dropping points again and Slot will field his strong XI, with this we take a look at their recent injury and disciplinary news.

Liverpool injury news ahead of Spurs clash

Slot had the opportunity to rest a number of important players for Wednesday’s 2-1 Carabao Cup quarterfinal victory against weak Southampton.

After missing the midweek victory, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker, and Ryan Gravenberch are all expected to play in the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. For the game against Saints, Kostas Tsimikas, Federico Chiesa, and Diogo Jota all had cameos off the bench.

Ibrahima Konate, who suffered a knee injury against Real Madrid in the Champions League last month, is yet to return to training, so participation on Sunday is ruled out, Slot said in his pre-Southampton press conference.

Conor Bradley, who injured his hamstring in the same match, has also not fully resumed exercise, but he may make a comeback for Boxing Day’s match against Leicester City.

Andy Robertson completed his one-game punishment for his red card in the Fulham tie, while Alexis Mac Allister returned from suspension during the EFL Cup victory against Southampton. As a result, Liverpool will not have any players suspended for Sunday’s crucial match.
