Arne Slot issues Isak, Gravenberch & Liverpool injury update ahead of Aston Villa Premier League clash

The Reds are enduring one of the worst runs this season.
Arne Slot has issued an update on Isak, Gravenberch, Jones and other Liverpool stars ahead of Liverpool’s crucial matchup with Aston Villa.
The British record signing has had a rocky start to life on Merseyside, as a recent groin issue has hindered his efforts to get back to full match sharpness.
Slot told reporters that Alexander Isak would not be available for Saturday’s visit from Villa after the Swede was substituted out at halftime in Liverpool’s 5-1 thumping of Eintracht Frankfurt last week, which was their only victory in their past seven games.

Curtis Jones, who had to leave against Brentford due to a slight injury, has also been ruled out for this weekend by Slot. However, he has disclosed that Ryan Gravenberch is back in camp and may play.
“Ryan (Gravenberch) trained with us yesterday. The other two (Isak and Jones) didn’t yet,” Slot said. “In the end phase of the injury, things can slow down a bit or things can go faster but Ryan trained with us yesterday and he will train with us today and then we will make the call whether he is able to start.”
“The other two are 99.9 percent sure not in the squad on Saturday.”
On Wednesday, Slot’s unconventional starting lineup, which featured infrequent appearances for third-choice keeper Freddie Woodman and hardly used right-back Calvin Ramsay, saw Liverpool lose 3-0 to Crystal Palace and be eliminated from the Carabao Cup.
It was Liverpool’s sixth straight defeat on English soil, and just five months after leading the Reds to the Premier League championship in his rookie campaign, Slot has come under increased scrutiny from the outside.
The Dutchman was taken aback when asked if he had started negotiations for a new contract with the Reds, whose present one is set to end in 2027.
What injury has Isak suffered?
He has suffered a groin injury.
How will Isak be out?
Slot has not revealed when he will be back.
Who else is injured for Aston Villa clash?
Jones is also ruled, but Gravenberch is available.
