Liverpool's Mohamed Salah to leave as free agent at end of season: Report

Salah has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
The legendary Mohamed Salah of Liverpool is reportedly set to depart the team following the end of the 2024-25 season.
Salah’s future has been the subject of several reports. The Egyptian attacker nearly left the team for a Saudi club last summer but decided to continue.
But once Jurgen Klopp left the team at the end of the last campaign (2023-24), there were rumours that Salah may leave finally. However, Arne Slot’s hiring assured everyone that Salah would play a significant role for the Dutchman this season.
Salah‘s future at Liverpool is still up in the air. According to the most recent speculation, he may leave the team after the end of the 2024-25 season.
He allegedly agreed to an agreement to join Al-Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League last season as per the report but it all fell through.
Salah stayed on Merseyside to build his legacy. This was despite the rumours about his future being rampant during the previous season, when the Saudi club offered £150 million for his talents, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.
Turki Alalshikh, the head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, was asked if Salah will be joining the Saudi Pro League side the next season during an MMA Hour discussion with MMA reporter Ariel Helwani.
The 42-year-old then revealed how close the league had come to landing the football superstar as he told Helwani: “I don’t have information [this year], but I have information last year. He was accepted, but Liverpool changed their mind in the last second.
Mohamed Salah is in the final year of his contract. There is supposedly “no sign” that Liverpool have made an offer to him this time.
With a goal and an assist in Liverpool’s opening-day 2-0 victory against Ipswich Town on Saturday, Salah, 32, once again showed his significance for the Reds.
If the Reds fail to find a replacement for Salah this season, it will be a poor decision to let the forward leave.
