Luis de la Fuente names Spain squad for upcoming UEFA Nations League games
Lamine Yamal has been included in the roster for the September games.
Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente has confirmed his squad for the UEFA Nations League games. They will go up against Serbia and Switzerland in September. Spain’s Euro 2024 heroes Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams have retained their spots for the upcoming games.
Both the forwards were fundamental in leading Spain to the Euro 2024 win against England in the competition’s final. Yamal’s extraordinary form has persisted at the club level. The player has not looked back after making a massive impression at the Euros.
Meanwhile, one new fresh face has been called up: Óscar Mingueza. Mingueza has been impressive for Celta Vigo this season. His performance has not gone unnoticed as he gets picked for the national team games.
De la Fuente has also brought back Aleix García, Pau Torres, Yeremy Pino and Robert Sánchez after they missed the Euros. Meanwhile, Unai Simón and Alvaro Morata are set to miss the games due to injuries.
Spain are enjoying a period of success. After winning the Euro, the nation also won the Olympic gold this summer while its women’s team won the 2023 World Cup. La Roja have already won the Nations League when they defeated Croatia in the final. They will be favourites to win the trophy back-to-back.
