The Frenchman has been in terrific form for Los Blancos this season.
Following an outstanding start to his Real Madrid career, Luka Modric has endorsed colleague Kylian Mbappe to win several Ballon d’Or honours at the Spanish club.
In one of the most well-known transfer window transactions, Mbappe left Paris Saint-Germain to join Real Madrid on a free transfer last summer. Despite having a difficult start, the French forward has excelled for the Spanish team.
He has registered 10 goals in his last nine LaLiga games, for a total of 31 goals for Real Madrid in all competitions.
Mbappe is currently a member of the France team, which is trying to defeat Modric’s Croatia in their UEFA Nations League quarterfinal. Before tonight’s match, in which Modric will face his club teammate for a spot in the finals, France are behind 2-0 in the first leg.
Modric supported Mbappe to win the Ballon d’Or and establish himself as the greatest player in the world prior to the match.
“On Kylian as a footballer, there is nothing more to say – he is one of the best players in the world,” Modrić told Téléfoot.
“He has so many abilities and honestly, it is something that I have rarely seen. But what impresses me the most about him is his personality. He is an incredible boy, very humble, always ready to crack a joke, to help his teammates. He is calm.
“Kylian, from the outside, you can say that it hasn’t been his best season but he still has over 30 goals. Imagine if he raises his level! Kylian is an incredible talent, one of the best that I have seen but as I said, what impresses me most about him is his personality because he really is an incredible boy.
Despite having an inept start to his Madrid career, Mbappe has already defined himself as the team’s most pertinent player. The striker will aim to score more goals in the remainder of the season.
