Manchester City vs Real Madrid Prediction, lineups, betting tips & odds

The Cityzens are up for a battle against Los Blancos in UCL.
Manchester City are all set to host Real Madrid for the UEFA Champions League 2024-25 play-offs first-leg match. The Premier League defending champions are not in the best of form and the same can be said for the LaLiga giants. Both sides have not been able to dominate UCL this season as they used to under the changed format.
Pep Guardiola’s men finished in the 22nd spot on the league phase table after winning only three matches out of eight. Manchester City won their last UCL match against Club Brugge which helped them seal a place in the playoffs. Only the top eight teams in the points table directly qualified for the next round of the European competition.
Real Madrid are the UCL defending champions but they finished in the 11th place after only winning five of their eight Champions League proceedings. Carlo Ancelotti’s men are having a tough time. They are going to have a tough battle against the Cityzens.
A win here is necessary for both sides. It will be interesting to watch this encounter as it might end up as a high-voltage contest.

Players to Watch
Erling Haaland (Man City)
Pep Guardiola will be expecting a top performance from Erling Haaland here as the injury-hit Madrid side are not doing very well when it comes to defending. Some of Los Blancos’ top defenders are out of action due to injury and this will be the perfect time for Haaland to net in some goals and lead his side to a win. This is not going to be an easy task as the UCL giants have previously taken down Man City in the knockout stages.
Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid)
The Frenchman is going to have a big responsibility on his hands when the UCL defending champions take on the Premier League giants. Kylian Mbappe scored a goal in Real Madrid’s recent LaLiga fixture against Atletico Madrid and saved them from a defeat. He also won the LaLiga Player of the Month award for January. With his current form, he will still be a threat to Manchester City’s defence.
