The forward will miss the remainder of the season.

Amad Diallo, the winger for Manchester United, will have surgery next week to treat an ankle injury. The injury will basically keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

Diallo is currently being evaluated after suffering an injury during training this week. It is anticipated that he will be sidelined for at least two months.

“Very disappointed to be writing this message in such a crucial time of the season,” the 22-year-old wrote in a social media post confirming the news.

“Unfortunately, I will be out for some time with an injury. I will come back stronger than ever. Time to support the boys from the outside. Still loads to play for.”

After going from playing a bit-part position under Erik ten Hag to becoming a key player in the new coach’s system and receiving a new five-and-a-half-year deal at about £100,000 per week, Diallo’s injury is especially upsetting for both the player and coach Ruben Amorim.

The Ivory Coast international has bagged six goals in the past 14 games, notably a hat-trick in the dramatic comeback victory over Southampton and important late goals against Manchester City and Liverpool.

Amad Diallo’s absence left Manchester United lacking wide players after Marcus Rashford and Antony were permitted to go on loan during the January transfer window.

Since Kobbie Mainoo has also been sidelined for several weeks due to a concerning ailment, along with Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer, the club’s issues have gotten worse.

Christian Eriksen and Casemiro are alternatives for Amorim for roles in midfield against Spurs. An array of academy players, including Jack Moorhouse, Chido Obi-Martin, Sekou Kone, Harry Amass, and Elyh Harrison, have also travelled to London.

When asked about the status of his team on Friday, Amorim gave a concerning update, stating that he is already missing longer-term players Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, and Jonny Evans.

“It was a good week until two days ago, we had some problems,” he said. “We don’t have players back, we have one or two issues but we are waiting.”
