Manchester United board played crucial role in JJ Gabriel's U-turn: Report

The bright youngster was considering leaving the Red Devils.
According to rumours, JJ Gabriel, a star of the Manchester United academy, is set to remain with the team this summer after changing his mind about leaving.
Gabriel, who is only 14 years old, is regarded as one of the top young players in the nation. This season, he has scored three goals in three Premier League under-18 games for United’s youth team, all of which came inside 71 minutes. It is an amazing goal-to-minute ratio for a player so young.
According to earlier predictions, the youngster, who seems set to become United’s youngest player ever, seemed to be heading to Real Madrid or Barcelona. It could have been a significant loss at Old Trafford.
Nathan Salt, a journalist for the Daily Mail, said on Sunday that JJ Gabriel has finally decided to remain at United. Prior to a “crucial intervention” from club officials, the 14-year-old appeared to be leaving this summer.
Manchester United board played a key part in convincing the talented star
Specifically, the youngster was persuaded to remain at the club by sporting director Jason Wilcox and official Matt Hargreaves. They cut a deal to retain the talent that had previously been likened to Neymar through “key meetings” over the past week.
After he turns sixteen, JJ Gabriel will have an additional opportunity to depart. But Salt says the last seven days have been “incredibly positive” regarding his future at United.
Throughout INEOS’ tenure, United have acquired promising young players, such as the Arsenal duo of Chido Obi-Martin and Ayden Heaven, as well as continental teenagers like Sekou Kone and Diego Leon.
However, holding onto Gabriel will be just as crucial, demonstrating their capacity to retain their top young players.
Last season, United gave more Premier League minutes to players who are 20 years of age or younger, including Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Leny Yoro, Patrick Dorgu, and Harry Amass. As the Red Devils consider furthering Gabriel’s growth as a youngster, Ruben Amorim may consider giving him his debut when the player turns 16.
