Manchester United's Harry Maguire out for few weeks with injury

The Red Devils are having an injury crisis amidst their poor run in the league.
Manchester United star Harry Maguire revealed that he has suffered an injury against Aston Villa. He will be out for a few weeks as United’s injury list continues to grow.
The England international partnered at the back with Jonny Evans in their 0-0 draw against the Villans. But his cameo was cut short as he was replaced at half-time due to an injury.
The 31-year-old was seen in discomfort and needed help from United’s medical team. Now he has confirmed on social media that he will be sidelined for a few weeks.
Harry Maguire said on social media: “I’m frustrated to pick up an injury at the weekend, will be a few weeks on the sideline but I’ll come back stronger.”
This is the third injury blow for Manchester United in recent times. They have also lost Alejandro Garnacho to a knee injury and Kobbie Mainoo, who was later withdrawn from the England squad with an ailment.
Injury to Maguire might see the Dutch manager return with his previous centre-back pairing of Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs De Ligt. The former Leicester City centre-back has made nine appearances for the club this season so far.
United are already dealing with an injury to their youngster Leny Yoro. Yoro suffered a foot injury during the pre-season and his return is not yet known.
United are already having one of the worst seasons under Erik ten Hag. The mounting injuries are further compounding the situation for the Premier League club.
They are 14th in the league and have won only two matches out of seven since the start of the new term, scoring only five goals.
The former Ajax manager’s future remains bleak. The club’s board have conducted an emergency meeting to discuss the club’s poor performance and the future of Ten Hag.
United’s next match will be after the October international break. They will play against Brentford on October 19. It will be interesting to see if Ten Hag will be able to maintain his position at the club till then.
