The Red Devils have been handed two new injury boosts.
When the Premier League 2024-25 season returns from the international break, Manchester United will be looking to get past their slow start.
After falling short 3-0 against Liverpool at home, United will travel south to take on Southampton in an attempt to win all three points. The Saints have only scored one goal in their first three games and have lost all of them.
In addition, United have only scored twice as many goals as they have played, so they will have to step it up against Russell Martin’s team.
Mason Mount was added to United’s already extensive list of injury concerns ahead of the trip to St Mary’s. This comes just before the team lost to Liverpool. We examine the players who will play versus the Saints ahead of the season’s return this weekend.

Shaw suffered a calf injury and the club earlier confirmed that he will miss the first half of the season. But it is understood that the player could be available to face the Saints.
Tyrell Malacia has missed an entire season with knee injury and remains in rehabilitation, while Ten Hag revealed that he could be back in next couple months. He has also been included in United’s Europa League squad.
Mason Mount injuries won’t seems to be going away as the midfielder once again suffered an injury and as a result, he is now in the midst of another spell on the sidelines.
Rasmus Hojlund could be back for the Southampton game as the striker missed first three games of the season due to hamstring injury in the opening game of United’s pre-season tour of the United States.
