The Red Devils will face Liverpool in a Premier League fixture.
In preparation for Sunday’s match at Old Trafford against Liverpool, Matheus Cunha participated in Manchester United’s training on Thursday.
In the lead-up to the Reds’ match against Brentford last week, the Brazil international was not seen at Carrington. The 26-year-old was absent, according to United, because it was his recovery day.
Manchester United handed Matheus Cunha injury boost
He would later miss the game earlier this week, though. Before the game, Michael Carrick affirmed that the injury was not considered significant. The interim manager told Sky Sports:
“Matheus Cunha has done a little bit of work, we’re not sure, hopeful.”
Carrick’s pre-match press conference this afternoon is anticipated to include additional injury updates. Matthijs de Ligt hasn’t featured since the 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace in November, making him a chronic absentee, and Carrick confirmed he will be out for the Liverpool game despite being spotted at training.
Other Injury and suspension news
Patrick Dorgu’s comeback to United’s matchday roster earlier this week was another positive development. Since scoring in the 3-2 victory over Arsenal, the Dane has not been seen.
Luke Shaw has to be evaluated before the match against Arne Slot’s squad after being substituted out in the second half of the last match against Brentford.
Lisandro Martinez will serve the last game of his three-match suspension against Liverpool after being sent off against Leeds United on April 13 for tugging Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hair.
What time will the game start?
8 pm IST, on 3rd May.
Which player could return?
It’s not confirmed yet, as only Matheus Cunha has returned.
Who won the last game?
United won the game 2-1 at Anfield.
