Manchester United Pre-Season 2024-25: Schedule, complete fixtures, results & telecast details
Manchester United players are putting in the hard work during pre-season in order to have a successful upcoming campaign.
Premier League giants Manchester United have already kicked off their pre-season tour, which consists of a total of five matches, in order to prepare for the upcoming 2024–25 season.
In 2023–24, the Red Devils endured one of their worst performances in Premier League history as they finished in a disappointing eighth place in the league. However, their disastrous campaign was saved by the FA Cup triumph, as they defeated local rivals Manchester City 2-1 in the final. This result ensured that United would participate in European competitions next season.
With a revamped sporting structure at the helm of affairs, manager Erik ten Hag was offered a new contract after a detailed work review of the Dutchman. Manchester United have also been proactive on the transfer market, already completing two big signings so far: Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for €42.5 million and Leny Yoro from LOSC Lille for €62 million.
With further potential incomings expected at the club, especially in the defensive and midfield positions, Man United are in for a major top-down rebuild this summer.
The Red Devils have already played two of their five pre-season games so far, with a record of one win and one defeat to their name.
In their first match, Manchester United faced Norwegian club Rosenborg. Even with key players such as Casemiro, Mason Mount, and Marcus Rashford starting the fixture, Erik ten Hag’s side suffered a shock 1-0 defeat. 23-year-old forward Noah Holm bagged a 93rd minute winner for Rosenborg to get Manchester United’s pre-season preparations off to the worst possible start.
However, United responded in perfect fashion during their second pre-season match against Scottish giants Rangers. The Red Devils recorded their first win of the preseason as they defeated Rangers by a scoreline of 2-0. Goals from Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill sealed the victory for Erik ten Hag’s team, as they finally opened their account. This match featured new signing Leny Yoro making his debut for the club with a composed performance. Following his reconciliation with the manager, Jadon Sancho was also a part of the contest.
Man United are now set to travel to the United States to play their remaining pre-season fixtures. During this tour, they are set to face Arsenal, Real Betis, and Liverpool.
Prior to the official start of the new Premier League season, the Red Devils will lock horns with Man City in the FA Community Shield match.
