The Red Devils’ 3-3 draw with Porto has escalated things at the club.

Erik ten Hag’s days could be numbered at Manchester United after their recent 3-3 draw against Porto. This has further intensified the pressure on the Dutch manager. Ten Hag was given two games to reverse the situation but their recent draw in the Europa League has piled more pressure and now the 54-year-old has just one game left.

United’s are already looking for a replacement and as per the report they are set to reignite talks with Thomas Tuchel if they decide to sack the former Ajax manager.

Manchester United have started the new season in the worst way and it has persisted with the club failing to win games, their next meeting will be against Aston Villa, which will be the make-or-break point for Ten Hag.

If United lose then Ten Hag might be sacked and the club will either appoint a new head coach or keep Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy until the end of the season.

But recent reports have stated that United are expected to resume talks with Tuchel, who was on the verge of replacing Ten Hag before the start of the season. However, their talks collapsed with Tuchel due to how much power the German manager will have and the financial package.

Another candidate is Gareth Southgate and he is admired by INEOS leadership at the club. It was believed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe prefers Southgate and Graham Potter but there are leaders of the club’s board will make the final decision.

It was also understood that the club officials held talks with Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Frank during the final of the FA Cup, but Pochettino has now taken the USA job.

Aston Villa match now a make-or-break game for Erik ten Hag

Erik ten Hag doesn’t have enough time now and the club is already under pressure due to their poor performance under the Dutch manager. If things don’t change against Villains then he could be dismissed by United.

If he does get sacked then Tuchel might be the leading figure to replace Ten Hag as the club’s hierarchy believes he is a world-class coach and wherever he has managed he has won titles with them.
