Manchester United squad name their football idols ahead of Europa League final; Bruno Fernandes, Amad, Mainoo & more

United have two matches remaining to wrap up the season.
As Manchester United players prepare for their Europa League final game on May 21st, they were asked in an interview who their idols were growing up.
The Red Devils have endured one of the worst seasons in their history as they are set to finish 16th in the Premier League if they lose against Aston Villa in the final gameweek.
It was thought to be a better campaign with Erik ten Hag receiving the backing of the board after winning the FA Cup last season, but their campaign commenced on a poor note and as poor results persisted, the board decided to sack the Dutch manager.
Ruben Amorim was then appointed their next manager, and expectations grew a little given his work for Sporting CP. However, things didn’t budge as Manchester United continued to display a sluggish display in the league.
But they have been a completely different side in the Europa League, and now they have a chance to salvage the season as they play Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the competition.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi & Ronaldinho among many others named as idols
Ahead of the final, a few of Manchester United’s stars were asked who their idols were growing up, with the video starting with skipper Bruno Fernandes, who named Ronaldinho and Cristiano Ronaldo his idols.
Then it was Amad Diallo who named Lionel Messi, centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, and striker Rasmus Hojlund had the same answer, as both said Ronaldo.
Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo named Ronaldinho, who inspired him during his childhood, while the last two, Alejandaro Garnacho said, Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo and Manuel Ugarte revealed Messi.
Every Manchester United star had a somewhat similar answer, as many of them said Messi and Ronaldo, as both still continue to inspire footballers around the globe.
All the young United stars will be hoping to assert such impact during their playing career there, but their main focus currently will be on the upcoming final on 21st May.
