Manchester United and Tottenham in contention to sign Andreas Christensen: Report

The Blaugrana Giants are looking to sell the centre-back.

Andreas Christensen’s future has once again been talked about at Barcelona and recent reports in Spain say that the centre-back could be sold by the club. This presents a chance for Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur to sign the player as they have expressed interest in acquiring him.

Barcelona’s economic issue has been a big problem for the club over the past years and they have been forced to sell some players. Last summer’s signing İlkay Gundogan has left the club, while Viktor Roque is closing on joining Real Betis on loan. However, more might be shown the exit gate in the last week of the transfer window.

This will be a big coup for other clubs to sign their star players, and now it has been understood that the Danish centre-back could be offloaded to help the club in financial constraints and register new signings.

United, who have reinforced their defence with the addition of Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt are keen on signing the former Chelsea player.

Injury to Yoro could force the club to look for another defender and Christensen will be a wise signing for them as his fantastic track record of experience, and has previously been described as “one of the best defenders in the world”,

Meanwhile, Spurs are also looking to add another centre-back and it appears both clubs could battle for the 28-year-old’s signing. Christensen will be a perfect signing for both clubs given the centre-back has already played in the league and shouldn’t take time to get accustomed to the league.

However, Barcelona will have to make a final decision and the fee hasn’t been confirmed how much the club will demand for Christensen. The Spanish club already have enough depth at the back and the Danish defender’s exit won’t be a big loss for them.

The club is also working on registering new signing Dani Olmo as their financial problem has continued plight more misery to them and now it remains to be seen what happens with Christensen’s future.
