INEOS have implemented major changes to the footballing structure at Manchester United.

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has talked about the positive changes in the workings of the club after the INEOS takeover. In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Eriksen stated that INEOS have brought much-needed calmness to the football club, as they have outlined a clear plan for the present and the future of the team to all the players.

In February, Sir Jim Ratcliffe officially acquired a minority stake in Manchester United in a deal worth £1.25 billion. In addition, the INEOS group was also handed over the running of the club’s football operations by the owners, the Glazer family, as a part of the complete agreement.

The Danish superstar said, “I do think it’s helped (INEOS as co-owners), and it has calmed things down. Looking into it and being here, now you know everyone is here and it’s their ideas, and you do feel calmness and not as much waiting. It’s told us this is what it’s going to be like, and this is what we’re going to.”

With just a year left on his current contract, the 32-year-old midfielder is heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer. Last season, Christian Eriksen made 28 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions, registering one goal and three assists in the process.

In their long-term project at Old Trafford, the INEOS group led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe are looking to recruit the very best in every position to get the historic club back to the top of world football. During their short spell so far, they have already done major restructuring in the club’s football operations.

With the incredible appointments of Dan Ashworth as the Sporting Director, Omar Berrada as the CEO and Jason Wilcox as the Technical Director, INEOS have already built a solid foundation that can collectively work towards the footballing success of Manchester United.

Manager Erik ten Hag was also offered a new contract this summer after a detailed work review of his tenure. However, a few changes were implemented in his coaching staff, with club legend Ruud van Nistelrooy joining in as the assistant manager to the Dutchman.

With INEOS at the helm of affairs, United have also been very proactive on the transfer market this summer. They have already completed two big signings so far in the form of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and Leny Yoro from LOSC Lille.

Just like several other Premier League sides, Manchester United have also travelled to the United States this summer in order to prepare for the upcoming 2024-25 season. During this pre-season tour, Ten Hag’s side are scheduled to play three friendly matches, against the likes of Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool.
