The midfielder’s time at Old Trafford has been filled with injuries.

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is expected to miss up to 10 weeks of action due to yet another injury setback.

The midfielder had to be subbed off in United’s derby game in just inside ten minutes as he couldn’t continue, and now scans reveal the midfielder is set to be on the sidelines for another big spell which could be until March.

Mount joined the team for an initial £55 million cost, which was approved by then-manager Erik ten Hag. Performance-based extras could increase the sum to £60 million.

Mount’s influence at United has been little after 18 months. In his meagre 32 appearances, he has one goal and one assist to his credit. Mount has only appeared in 32 of the 79 games since joining the team due to chronic injuries that have kept him out of action for most of his tenure.

Mount sustained an injury against Manchester City earlier this month that might keep him out of competition for up to ten weeks.

According to the insider report, he had a hamstring issue as a result of a hyperextended leg, and his tendon was also affected.

Mount’s return date may vary according to his recuperation and rehabilitation, but it appears that he won’t return to action until at least March 2025.

This is terrible news for Mount, who wrote on Instagram following his injury to fans:

“Words can’t portray how devastated I’m feeling right now, you could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant.

“United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith. I’ve said this before, but I will continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won’t stop until that’s achieved.”

Throughout his tenure at Old Trafford, Mount has battled injuries. The 25-year-old has only played 90 minutes once in his 18 months with the team, and never in the Premier League.
