Marc-Andre ter Stegen to meet with Barcelona board to discuss his future: Report

The German goalkeeper wants to remain at the club.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen wants to stay at Barcelona even though Joan Garcia is on the verge of joining the club. He is scheduled to meet with Barcelona executives.
Ter Stegen is scheduled to meet with Hansi Flick and president Joan Laporta to discuss his future at the club, according to Spanish publication AS.
Ter Stegen, who has a contract with the team through 2028, would prefer to stay on after missing a significant portion of the 2024-25 season due to injuries.
He believes that after playing well for Germany in the UEFA Nations League, he can remain the number one pick even though Barcelona are close to signing Joan Garcia from Espanyol.
In his first season under coach Luis Enrique, Ter Stegen, who left his boyhood team Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2014–15, won the treble.
After a fantastic season under coach Flick, in which they won the domestic championship and advanced to the Champions League semi-final, Barcelona hope to bolster their squad. They’ll want to settle their dispute with Ter Stegen as soon as possible.
The 33-year-old is back in Barcelona, albeit on vacation, after spending the international break with Germany, claiming he had no plans to leave the city.
Although he is upset about how they handled the whole situation, he has plans to meet with Barcelona to talk about his future. Hansi Flick, the manager and the director of football, Deco, will be responsible for that.
Ter Stegen has apparently been added to the shortlists of Manchester United and Galatasaray in recent days. Meanwhile, the goalkeeper has stated that he is prepared to compete with Garcia for the top slot the following season. Moreover, he has informed his agents that he intends to stay at Barcelona.
Barcelona would be wise to speak with ter Stegen about the future as soon as possible because fewer teams will be searching for a goalkeeper as the summer goes on. They might be holding off deciding until the deal for Garcia is finalised and signed.
