Cucurella used to be in Spain before coming to England.
Marc Cucurella, a left-back for Chelsea, has stated that it would be difficult to turn down the opportunity to return to FC Barcelona.
The Spain international forged a career in football after coming up the ranks of La Masia. He had to depart to get regular playing time, and also because Jordi Alba was the first choice back then.
Marc Cucurella on potential return to Barcelona

Before moving to Getafe, where he made an impression, he was on loan at SD Eibar. Marc Cucurella was signed by Brighton before moving to Chelsea for €65 million in 2022.
“It would be difficult to refuse. It’s not just about me. I’d have to think about my family. If it happens, it happens, and we’ll see what decision is made.”
“You always think about going back. I’m very happy there, and so is my family. I’ll leave it for a few years from now…”
He has been a regular for La Roja since joining Luis de la Fuente’s Spain team. However, Marc Cucurella is not on FC Barcelona’s radar, despite reports that they are accepting offers for Alejandro Balde this summer.
Cucurella’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires in 2028. Additionally, he currently seems to be out of Barcelona’s price range, and left-back is also not their top priority.
These most recent remarks coincide with increased conjecture about a number of veteran stars. The London team will have a tough time keeping its core group focused. Even Enzo Fernández was recently linked to a high-profile transfer to Real Madrid.
The team’s recent on-field difficulties exacerbate this uncertainty. Chelsea’s bitter UEFA Champions League exit serves as a stark reminder of their discernible decline.
Has Marc Cucurella played for Barcelona?
Yes, he was their academy player.
When will his Chelsea deal expire?
In 2028.
From which club did Chelsea sign him?
They secured him by paying transfer fees to Brighton FC.
