The England international turned down an offer from a Saudi club to remain in Europe.

According to reports, Marcus Rashford will make a big concession to join Barcelona in January after becoming out of favour at Manchester United.

The 27-year-old England international is keen to sign with the Catalan powerhouses before the winter transfer window ends, despite struggling for minutes under current United manager Ruben Amorim. Even though Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, and Napoli have expressed interest in him, Rashford has apparently made Barcelona his top target. However, the Spanish club’s financial difficulties might make the deal more difficult.

Rashford signed a long-term contract with Manchester United in 2023, and he presently makes over £300,000 a week. Reports claim that Rashford is still amenable to renegotiating his salary in the event that United and Barcelona are able to come to a loan arrangement and that his readiness to take a pay cut may make the transfer easier.

Barcelona are also trying to get rid of Unai Hernandez, whose deal with the team ends on June 30. The youthful attacker is expected to depart for Saudi Arabia to join Al-Ittihad for roughly €6 million (£5m/$6m), according to reports, despite talks between the club and the player’s representatives late last year regarding a contract extension.

Rashford’s readiness to reduce his wage demands as the January transfer window draws to a close may open the door for a high-profile loan move to Barcelona, a team looking to expand its attacking options. However, whether or not this agreement is finalized will depend on the Blaugranas’ capacity to overcome their financial obstacles.

Marcus Rashford rejects a massive offer from Saudi club

Furthermore, as he waits for Barcelona, Rashford has reportedly rejected a huge contract offer from Saudi Arabia, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Manchester United misfit plans to stay in Europe in order to play for the England national team in the future and becoming a member of the Catalan club remains his first aim.

In light of this, Rashford turned down a huge offer from a Saudi Arabian club for £600,000 per week, which is nearly double his wage at Manchester United.

At the moment, the dynamic forward is willing to lower his wage in order to secure a transfer to Barcelona after turning down such a lucrative offer.
