The forward is at Aston Villa on loan from United.
Marcus Rashford has not given up on his ideal move to Barcelona even though the clubās sporting director Deco stated this week that the giants were not ādesperateā to acquire him.
After his relationship with manager Ruben Amorim became sour, Rashford departed Manchester United for Aston Villa on a deadline-day loan in pursuit of regular playing time.
After being dropped out from the team for the Manchester derby in December, the 27-year-old stated that he intended to depart his boyhood club.
Things turned worse between the forward and manager as Rashford became a fringe player at the club and was being linked to a few teams in Europe. It appeared that he might join Barcelona given he was heavily linked with the club.
However, the clubās financial issues prevented them from signing the United academy player. Rashford subsequently signed for Aston Villa on deadline day.
His brothers, who serve as his agents, had discussions with Barca and other European clubs. Rashford will play for Villa for the remainder of the season after the Catalans were unable to negotiate a deal.
Rashford expressed his excitement about the chance to play football once more in his welcome interview with the team.
However, he also stated unequivocally that he does not see himself staying in the Midlands for very long. This is even though Villa have the option to purchase the player for £40 million at the conclusion of the loan agreement.
Rashford stated: āObviously itās only short term that Iām here but I want to make the most of my time here. āAnd the only way to do that is by using my attributes and skill sets to help the teamā.
If the forward shines for Unai Emeryās side then plenty of clubs will show interest in signing him. But so far he hopes to join Barcelona, who are currently not in any financial condition to sign the player.
