Many high-stake games will be played this week.

This week of football will be full action-packed as it will have many big matches. With the new season having already commenced in Europe fans have so far got a glimpse as to how their club will perform going further into the campaign. We have already seen a lot of entertainment since the start of the new season and more will come in this week.

Hence, on that note, we will take a look at the top five games that should not be missed for this upcoming weekend.

5. Newcastle United vs Manchester City

Newcastle’s next Premier League game will be against defending champions Manchester City. The Magpies were enjoying a good run to the season before they suffered a 3-1 defeat against Fulham. This saw them drop down in the table to sixth position.

Eddie Howe’s side will have to be prepared to face City who secured a 2-2 draw against Arsenal in a toe-toe game on Sunday. City were trailing in the match until injury time before substitute John Stones scored an equalizer. His goal helped City get a point against the Gunners and see them continue to remain at the top of the table with 13 points.

Pep Guardiola’s side will be berated by the injury of Rodri. It is reported the Spaniard will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

4. Chelsea vs Brighton

Chelsea’s life under a new head coach has seen them playing attractive football once again. They are surprisingly fifth in the table which has been deserving of their solid performance so far into the new season. Barring their defeat to Man City, the Blues have not looked back. They have continued to prove they could challenge for the trophies this term.

The Blues will next face a tough side, Brighton & Hove Albion, who have enjoyed a similar term so far under a new head coach. Brighton will be looking to give the West Londoners a tough fight when they face them.

3. Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen

Vincent Kompany’s appointment as Bayern Munich’s head coach appeared odd. Fans were dismayed by how such a young coach would handle a big team. But fast forward before their next game they are top of the Bundesliga with 12 points and have been scintillating. Kompany seems to have instantly transformed the German club and they have seamlessly adapted to his philosophy.

They will next face a side that ended their dominance in the league last season by winning the Bundesliga. Bavarians will be hoping to reclaim their monopoly when they host Xabi Alonso’s side, who are second with nine points. The defending champions might have had a slow start to the new term but are slowly finding their footing in the league. They will be looking to win & add three points to help defend the title.

2. Manchester United vs Tottenham

Manchester United will have to pick themselves up as they cannot continue to drop points with other teams way ahead of them in the table. Erik ten Hag’s side are 11th in the table and have only won two games in six encounters. They face another struggling side Tottenham Hotspur who are 10th in the standings.

Both sides will be aiming to win when Spurs travel to Old Trafford for their next Premier League match. Both of them cannot continue to drop points, making this match crucial for them.

1. Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid

This will be an exciting Madrid derby when Atletico host Real on Sunday night. Diego Simeone’s side are fourth in the table with three wins and three draws while Real are second four points behind leaders Barcelona. The defending champions have had a slow start to new term but have managed to pick themselves up. Los Blancos now face a tough outing in their next LaLiga game.

Meanwhile, Atletico will have to improve themselves if they want to be in the title race. They cannot continue to drop points. A win against Real will be a big boost to their season.
