Mauricio Pochettino set to become new USNMT head coach; salary details and contract length

The Argentine left Chelsea last season.
Mauricio Pochettino has now accepted an international role and is set to become the next head coach of the USA men’s national football team. The former Chelsea boss has been appointed as the next USMNT coach and will take them to the 2026 FIFA World Cup which will be held in USA, Canada and Mexico.
The Argentine manager coached Chelsea for a season and led them to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League before the club board decided to discontinue him and parted ways with him on mutual consent.
Moreover, the former Paris Saint-Germain head coach was linked with an England job but the Three Lions decided to appoint Lee Carsley who will take temporary charge of England.
This is some ambitious appointment from the USA given they had endured an embarrassing Copa America 2024 where they were eliminated in the group stage and decided to dismiss Gregg Berhalter.
When Pochettino assumes the duty, a new era will begin. As one of the most well-known managers in Premier League history, he transformed Tottenham Hotspur into one of the top teams in English football.
His appointment will serve as a big example as the USNMT hope to turn their fortunes around and transform into a competitive side for the upcoming World Cup given the North Americans endured one of the turbulent times under Berhalter and missed out on the 2018 World Cup.
But he guided them to the 2022 World Cup and after that his deal expired he was once again given the hot seat during the recent Copa America, where they were sent home from the group stage.
Under him, USNMT will be playing an attacking brand of football which will be exciting to watch and Pochettino could turn them into a side that will be prepared to challenge top European countries at the 2026 World Cup.
How much is Mauricio Pochettino’s salary as USMNT manager?
As of yet, no contract details have emerged.
