The attacking player has resumed training.
Commenting ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League matchup against Fulham, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an encouraging report on star player Bukayo Saka.
Although they are 12 points behind leaders Liverpool, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal team is presently ranked second in the Premier League. They have advanced to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League on the European scene, where they will take on Real Madrid in a crucial match.
They will face either Paris Saint-Germain or Aston Villa in the semi-finals if they can defeat the Spanish powerhouses. Saka made his first training appearance since sustaining a hamstring injury in December and will now return to action after a long time on the sidelines.
His absence has been felt deeply since Mikel Arteta’s team has had difficulty in front of goal and watched their dreams of winning the Premier League title wane.
During a press conference on Monday, Arteta stated, as reported by BBC Sport, “Bukayo Saka is ready to go. All the careful things are already done. Now it’s about putting him in the grass at the right moment. But he’s pushing because he really wants to.
“We have respected the timeline and we have done everything. He is ready to go.”
Arsenal in talks to extend Saka’s contract
Arsenal are keen to remove any doubt over Saka’s long-term future and will give top priority and provide him a better contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 23-year-old winger, who currently makes £195,000 a week, signed his final contract in 2022, guaranteeing him at least £10 million ($13 million) annually. Saka’s contract renewal will be managed by Andrea Berta, who recently assumed the position of sporting director.
Saka is not the only important player that Berta is involved with; Arsenal are also trying to ensure the futures of other important players. Conversations with Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Magalhaes, and William Saliba are anticipated over a new deal.
