Liverpool are currently top of the Premier League standings.

Mohamed Salah, a winger for Liverpool, stated that he would prefer to win the Premier League title over the UEFA Champions League this season.

The Egyptian international has previously won the Champions League trophy (2018/19 season) in addition to the Premier League (2019/20 season) triumph.

For Arne Slot’s team, Salah has performed admirably well thus far this season. During the current campaign, the 32-year-old has already helped the Reds with 13 assists and 17 Premier League goals.

With 45 points from 18 games, Liverpool lead the Premier League standings at the moment.

“I want to win the Premier League title more than the Champions League this year,” Salah told TNT Sports ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League tie with Manchester United on Sunday. “I really want it, as a team we want it.”

Liverpool lead their closest opponents by six points and have one game in hand to play. Even the third and fourth-placed sides have played a game more than the Reds.

According to recent reports, the Egyptian winger is one of the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or 2025 because of his incredible season with Liverpool. Salah himself, though, does not think much of this acknowledgement.

Salah’s contract expires in the summer, just like that of Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. The three are now free to negotiate pre-contract deals with foreign teams in the current winter transfer window.

Salah has maintained that Liverpool love him and that he loves them. Only time will tell, though, if that positive relationship will be sufficient to make the forward turn down more lucrative offers from other clubs.

Meanwhile, according to earlier reports, it has been understood that the star forward has agreed to a new deal with Liverpool, reportedly a two-year agreement.

Salah will hope to continue his fine form when the Reds face Manchester United in one of the biggest clash of this month in the league and will aim to sustain their top spot in the league.
