The Egyptian star backs Arsenal to lift the title this season.
Unexpectedly, Mohamed Salah said Liverpool aren’t the “favourites” to win the Premier League in 2025–2026. Even though the Reds defeated AFC Bournemouth 4-2 in their opening match, Salah acknowledged that one of their primary opponents has a “really good chance” of winning the title before them.
This year is another crucial attempt for Mikel Arteta to win the Premier League title, which they haven’t done since their unbeaten season in 2004.
In order to bolster the team, the club have spent about £200 million ($270 million) in the transfer market. The Gunners now possibly have the last component, adding firepower to a team that came in second in the previous season’s title competition with the acquisition of Viktor Gyokeres.
Salah feels the Gunners have a good chance of lifting the title this season

In a chat with presenter Cecil Thomas, an Arsenal fan, during Tuesday night’s Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) awards, Salah said:
“I think you have a great team this season as you did last season. So, you have really good chance. I think you are the favourite now because you players who have been together for five years. I can’t say I’ll wish you luck – hopefully we do it again.”
Salah became the first player in Premier League history to win the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award three times when he was named the winner at the 2025 PFA awards. With an incredible 29 goals and 18 assists in the previous season, the 33-year-old attacker was acknowledged for one of the best individual performances in league history.
Even though Salah believes the north Londoners may succeed, Liverpool are prepared to build on their impressive start. Arne Slot’s team will play Newcastle United on Monday at St. James’ Park after earning three points against Bournemouth. Then on the 31st, the Reds will host the Gunners at Anfield in another crucial game.
