He’s Chelsea player now: Napoli director on Romelu Lukaku's link to Serie A side

Lukaku has been linked with a move to the Italian club.
Napoli director Manna has spoken on the potential signing of Romelu Lukaku. The Serie A club working behind the scenes to acquire the forward from Chelsea. Romelu Lukaku’s stay at Chelsea is “impossible” and a transfer agreement with Napoli may happen quickly.
It has taken some time for the ‘possible’ Lukaku deal to get visibility. There were even some rumours that it wouldn’t get any closer if Napoli couldn’t sell their current striker Victor Osimhen.
Nonetheless, Lukaku’s possible transfer to Napoli isn’t dependent on Osimhen leaving, indicating that the 31-year-old will eventually complete his departure from Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku was loaned out to AS Roma the previous season and Inter Milan the year before. His future clearly doesn’t lie at Chelsea. Ever since he gave an interview, where he felt he never fit into the former manager Thomas Tuchel’s system, both parties have been looking to get rid of each other.
Since Antonio Conte and Lukaku got along well at Inter and won the Scudetto, this seems like the perfect situation for Lukaku to return to his best and end this trying time with the Blues.
Although Osimhen’s anticipated trade would disappoint Napoli supporters, Lukaku should prove to be a worthy front-runner in place of the Nigerian international.
Meanwhile, Osimhen has been vocal about his exit from the Italian side. Many clubs have shown interest in signing him. PSG, Chelsea and Arsenal are keen on bringing the forward. But his release clause has been a big issue.
Manager, Conte has also confirmed that Osimhen is likely to leave the club in the summer. It remains to be seen which side he will join. If Napoli fails to find a suitor for him, he could end up continuing in Italy.
