The Danish striker is enduring a dry patch at the English club.

Napoli may bring struggling Manchester United attacker Rasmus Hojlund back to Serie A only on one condition. Meanwhile, a rumour has hinted at the possibility of a Victor Osimhen move to Old Trafford.

When Hojlund was signed from Atalanta in the summer of 2023, his price was £64 million (with add-ons, it increased to £72 million). The Dane scored 16 goals in all competitions during his promising debut season at Manchester United.

Ruben Amorim’s arrival hasn’t helped the forward, though, as Hojlund hasn’t scored in 16 straight games—12 of which were starts.

Amorim says that United’s number nine is “far from convincing.” Additionally, it has been stated that Napoli, a contender for the Serie A title, are “ready to take Rasmus Hojlund off Manchester United’s hands,” but only under one restriction.

According to reports, Antonio Conte’s team will insist that Manchester United should sell the striker for a cut price rather than for the £64 million they originally paid.

However, it is not yet known how much Napoli would be prepared to spend. United are not in a strong position to demand a high fee given Hojlund’s terrible performance this season.

After his successful stint at Atalanta, Hojlund’s reputation is said to be still strong in Italy despite his difficulties this season.

Since Conte took over, Napoli have demonstrated a desire to pursue Premier League players, as evidenced by the summer arrivals of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea and Billy Gilmour from Brighton.

Prior to the current season, Napoli also did business with Manchester United when they paid €30.5 million (£25.7 million) to recruit Scott McTominay.

United are mobilizing for Victor Osimhen at the same time as Napoli are expressing interest in Hojlund. At the end of the season, the Nigerian striker will head back to Naples, and possibly be up for sale in the summer. He is now on loan at Galatasaray.

Osimhen has a €120 million release clause in his contract with Napoli. Fabrizio Romano claims that starting on July 1, the clause’s value will fall between €75 million and €80 million.
