Neymar is currently playing for Brazilian club Santos.
Junior Firpo wants to see Neymar join Leeds United. But is a Premier League deal possible amidst the rumoured £100 million ($134 million) the club is set to spend?
The Whites are getting ready to play in the major league again in 2025–2026. Daniel Farke’s team has recovered from the heartbreak of last season’s play-off final. Automatic promotion out of the Championship has been confirmed.
Leeds are the best side in the EFL Championship this season, outperforming every club. Despite having equal points with Burnley, Leeds remains top of the table with a better goal difference.
Firpo has been a vital member of Leeds’ team. The former Barcelona full-back is making good use of his expertise. In the not-too-distant future, he hopes to see more well-known names join him at Elland Road.
When questioned who he would like to bring in if money were not a problem, Firpo, who departed Camp Nou for West Yorkshire in 2021 when Leeds were a Premier League team, responded to Marca as follows: “I would sign Neymar to Leeds if I could.”
Superstar Neymar of Brazil is currently back in his native country with Santos. At 33, he has been dealing with additional injury issues there. But he is still committed to competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He might take on another club challenge before making it to the finals.
According to reports, Leeds will have the money to make big acquisitions this summer. The ownership team of 49ers Enterprises is apparently prepared to spend more than £100 million on up to six “major signings.”
However, they will be careful with their signing. Given that Firpo has suggested acquiring the Brazilian, they could test the waters. But it could prove to be a risky purchase given the former Paris Saint-Germain’s history with injuries.
Hence, Leeds should spend carefully and bring in players who will help the club continue at the top level and fight for trophies next season.
