Neymar linked with shock transfer to PSG rivals Marseille

The Brazilian’s relationship with Santos fans has deteriorated in recent times.
With a surprise move to Ligue 1 side Marseille for the Santos star being rumoured, Neymar might soon be playing with Mason Greenwood.
Only in January, Brazil star Neymar returned to his boyhood team Santos after his lucrative Saudi Pro League deal with Al-Hilal was terminated. Although initially it was just a six-month thing, later, he and the club decided to extend his stay until the end of the year.
However, he is having a difficult time in his native country. The star player has barely played, missing most of the matches with injuries. He has missed 11 games due to injuries, which has been a regrettable trend.
Santos have fallen out of domestic cup competitions and are 17th in the league. The 33-year-old got into a heated argument with a fan following a heartbreaking loss to Internacional, accusing the supporter of disrespecting his family and casting doubt on his dedication towards the game.

This has now led to the former PSG star’s future at the Brazilian club looking increasingly unlikely. Moreover, new reports are emerging that he is being courted by a European club.
Neymar to Marseille?
According to TyC Sports, Neymar is now again drawing interest from Europe and might be persuaded to take on a new challenge in the run-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, even though the incident is being downplayed.
Brazil’s all-time top scorer is reportedly a target for Ligue 1 team Marseille, who already have former Manchester United forward Greenwood on their roster.
“Negotiations” are reportedly in progress. The former Barcelona player would be able to return to feature in the UEFA Champions League competition with a move there. But it won’t happen without some controversy as he previously played 173 games for Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille’s bitter rival.
