The Brazilian star scored twice to take his tally to three goals in the league this term

Star forward Neymar grabbed the headlines once again in Santos’ dominant 3-1 win against Juventude in the Serie A 2025 match, after the Brazilian star scored twice to lead his side to an important win.

Despite arriving at his childhood club, it was expected of Neymar to alter the competitive level of Santos, but he has rather spent most of the time on the sidelines with frequent injuries.

The former Barcelona star is looking to get into the groove to help his side elevate in the table, as they are currently sitting at 15th place in the Serie A standings.

The 33-year-old has now featured in five straight full games for the first time since 2022

However, since his return from the recent injury, Neymar has demonstrated why his old club bought him, as he has played five straight full games for the first time since August 2022. Moreover, his brace against Juventude was his first brace since August 2022 at the club level.

On top of that, this is his first brace in all competitions since September 2023, when he netted twice in Brazil’s 5–1 win over Bolivia.

The stats underline how the forward has barely played more than four games, with injuries continuing to derail his momentum. It’s his first full five matches since 2022, which highlights how constant ailments have been a key problem in his career.

Neymar will look to pick up on his current momentum heading into the FIFA World Cup qualifiers

The 31-year-old will now hope to build on his flow as he wants to keep himself fit for the upcoming Brazil World Cup qualifiers games. The former Paris Saint-Germain player has not featured for his national team matches ever since picking up an injury in 2023 against Uruguay.

However, his main priority would be keeping himself fit for Santos’ crucial games as they are in the bottom half of the table, and cannot suffer more defeats.

Meanwhile, Neymar’s presence has been important for the club as he has now netted three goals in nine Serie A matches and will hope to make a difference in upcoming matches. He looks to display that he still possesses top quality to change the course of the game single-handedly.
