Norway's all-time top scorers; Erling Haaland & more

Haaland made history when he led Norway to a 3-0 win against Slovenia.
Erling Haaland made history for Norway with his brace against Slovenia. It seemed obvious that this time would arrive as he continued to score goals in each game. The last unanswered issue was when Erling Haaland would surpass all previous Norwegian goal scorers. Last Friday night, that milestone was accomplished.
With a three-point advantage over Austria, they played them away from home this Sunday. Norway suffered a 5-1 thrashing although they remain at the top of Group H of the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League.
Let’s look at Norway’s all-time top scorers and where Haaland slots.
5. John Carew – 24 goals
Born on September 5, 1979, John Alieu Carew is a Norwegian actor and former striker in professional football. He netted 24 goals for the Norwegian national team and received 91 caps.

4. Harald Hennum – 25 goals
Hennum began his professional football career at Frigg, where he played in three different periods in total. Hennum won the Norwegian Cup four times while playing for Skeid, in 1954, 1955, 1956, and 1958.
Hennum scored 25 goals in 43 games for the Norwegian national team. He is placed fourth on the country’s all-time leading scorers list.
3. Einar Gundersen – 26 goals
One of the first well-known players in Norwegian football is Einar Gundersen. He made 33 appearances for Norway and finished third on the team’s all-time scoring record with 26 goals. 2. Jorgen Juve – 33 goals
Juve became Norway’s all-time top scorer with 33 goals in 45 appearances for his nation between 1929 and 1934. Before Haaland, who had been in the Norwegian legend’s rearview mirror for the previous two years, eventually beat Juve’s record with a brace against Slovenia on Thursday night, the 33-goal record of Jorgen Juve stood for ninety years.
1. Erling Haaland – 34 goals
Erling Haaland made history for Norway with his brace against Slovenia. The Manchester City striker blasted past Jan Oblak’s near post with a right-footed effort just seven minutes into the match to give his nation a 1-0 lead.
Haaland’s goal, his 33rd for Norway, tied him with Jørgen Juve for the top spot on their nation’s all-time goalscoring chart. In the 62nd minute, the striker scored once again to give Norway a 3-0 victory and solidify his status as the country’s best goal scorer. In just 37 games, Haaland has now scored 34 goals for Norway.
